Welcome to FTPEditor.com - a company founded and run by a group of web
application delevopers and IT consultants. All of us - at one point - had
the need of editing files directly on FTP servers.
With that in mind, we started to develop FTPEditor - which we found to be the
solution for all our daily FTP editing needs.
FTPEditor was established in 1999 and has become a excellent tool
for professional webmasters, web developers and many private homepage owners
since then.
Firstly we used FTPEditor as an internal tool - but from the positive feedback we got
from partners and clients, we decided to make it available
for everyone.
In its early days FTPEditor was available as ad-sponsored freeware, which we
found to be the best way of marketing our product then. But with the upcoming
rumors about ad-ware being spyware, more and more users complained about
FTPEditor being advertisement sponsored.
So from FTPEditor 1.8 we changed the licensing model to Shareware.
Being used in enterprise and corporate environments we started getting
feature request above the standard FTP editing.
FTPEditor Pro
was created to fit this advanced needs.
